Hope for the Future on a Rapidly Changing Planet
The dire nature of climate change often leaves us with few stories of hope. But the more our current and future industry leaders discuss and plan for the troubles ahead and show us what we’re already doing to combat climate change today, the more hope we can all have going forward:
The “20 Under 35” of 2021 Talk Climate Sense
In October 2021, SSPI honored the latest cohort of “20 Under 35” professionals who are the rising stars of our industry. As part of the Climate Sense campaign, SSPI Membership Director Tamara Bond-Williams invited them to a conversation about global climate change: how are we helping, how are we hurting and what we hope to do about it.
As was to be expected, they each brought a unique, thoughtful and sometimes surprising viewpoint forward, and each showed a passion for our industry and our planet that bodes well for our future. We invite you to listen in to this conversation above.

Can Satellite Save the World?
Humanity is in a battle to limit climate change and adapt to its unavoidable impacts. With more than 190 nations needing to cooperate, however, progress is slow. But there are many encouraging signs: new ways to detect and measure carbon sources so they can be controlled, new visibility into impacts so they become harder to ignore, and new ways to reveal whether nations keep the commitments they make. These are the fundamental contributions of satellite technology to the battle.
In this conversation, part of the Climate Sense campaign, we heard from leading innovators about satellite technologies and services that provide perspective on the entire planet, from trends affecting entire oceans to changes in one square kilometer of land. And we came away with more hope for humanity’s future on planet Earth.
Speakers for this converation included:
- Guillermo Bosch, Senior Vice President, Business Development, SatADSL
- Marco Cristoforo Camporeale, Head of Digital, Inmarsat Maritime
- Morten Hagland Hansen, Vice President, Maritime & Energy, Ursa Space Systems
